Theatre, Event and Production Designer

Richard Cooper is a Set and Costume designer from Kent,  graduating Nottingham Trent University with First class hons in 2011. His experience spans the UK, Europe, China and America as a Theatre Set and Costume Designer, Awards / Events, Exhibition Designer, Scenic Production Manager and Technical Director.

Practical experience in Scenic Carpentry , Scenic Painting, Lighting Design and Prop Making provide a technical base for his designs. Key knowledge of materials, construction technology and experience within the different theatrical departments provide a grounded approach to each design. He uses white card model making and 3d rendering (Fusion 360) to visualise designs, create working drawings and site drawings for fit ups. His technical skills branch into AutoCAD and Adobe Suite such as Illustrator and Photoshop.

Richard is currently designing, "The Boy Who Sailed The Ocean In An Armchair" and "Kiss me Kate" with the National Youth Music Theatre. "Rock n Roll", "Three Winters" and "As you Like it" for Guildford School of Acting Ma  whilst being the Technical Director and Head Designer for Long Lake Camp for the Arts in New York. He is also a Production designer for Arcola Products, Owner or StageCase and associate to WeTeachDrama.
